23rd December, 1990, marked a historic day for Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Colombo 07, where the “Guruge Hall” was adorned with past Sirimavians for the inaugural meeting to set up the school’s Old Girls’ Association. Setting up an OGA when the school was merely 17 years old has indeed assisted in uplifting Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya to claim its current reputation as one of the leading schools in Sri Lanka. Jayasekera, with the aim of providing a platform for past students to network and work towards the betterment of the alma mater. The 1991 inaugural committee was presided by Sujeewi Samaranayake, followed by Geetha Munasinghe as Secretary and Mallika Jayawardena as Treasurer.

Jayasekera, Ms. W. P. N. De Silva, Mrs. P. M. Kalubowila, as well as the current principal, Mrs. R.A.M.R Herath and tremendous efforts of all her members and the past committees.
